The one I loved and the one I love

You cannot always have what you want. Sometimes it just takes a little acknowledgment, yet that doesn't mean you cannot pursue that thing you want most.

Love is good, love hurts, love pains, love crushes. The moment you step into this fine line, there’s no going back. You may get wounded, you may get heart aches, but in the end what matters most is you tried.

Along the way, there will always be people waiting to catch you whenever you might fall, so don’t be afraid to love with all your heart. Love until you heart breaks, until it breaks into tiny fragments of those past happy memories because only then when you have done that can you say you have truly loved.

Love breaks the mightiest man, yet it can also build the strongest fortress that withstands the tests of time. Love is a word defined into many unfathomable figuratives and different languages, yet when felt, becomes unexplainable.

It hurts when you have already tried everything, and you still cannot have what you want, but it hurts more when you do nothing at all, and watch as your precious treasure is slowly taken away.

It pains knowing that in the middle of the race, someone already got to the prize first, but it pains more reaching the finish line, and knowing that the prize wasn't meant for you at all.

A Child's Point of View

When things you want do not always go your way
When you want this and your parents say, “some other day”
Don’t hate them for what they say
Understanding is every child’s obligation to pay.

It’s not a shame to be scolded and told
It’s not a bad thing to let your behaviour be controlled
Parents leave a lot of lifetime experiences untold
These are things you’ll understand once you grow old.

Just remember the night you were born
How your mother had cried and your father left torn
Between his love for his woman and for his new born
Yet you grew up with parents who adorn.

So each time you hate, each time you bleed
Remember that a parent is something we all need
When you commit a mistake, throw your pride and plead
Ask forgiveness and do a good deed.

Someday you’ll realize and see the truest of the true
That parents care, you’re not a mistake nor a woe
Don’t judge Mom and Dad for what they do
They do what they do best because they love you.

Parents love you, though at times we become so blinded by our selfishness. They know what's best and what's good for us, but we just can't see underneath that smokescreen of immaturity we have. Whenever we feel like hating our parents when things don't go our way, remember that most often, it's not only us that often gets misunderstood.

A day accomplished, another life lesson learned.

Noche Glamorosa

As white dresses slowly become a scarcity in mall racks, girls binge-shop the perfect accessories and shoes and frequent salons and spas to give themselves some lovin', the CDU - College of Allied Medical Sciences (CAMS) Department Acquaintance Party draws nearer. Freshmen buzz in anticipation of the annual departmental event that will showcase the grandeur of the CDUcian lifestyle.

Happy girls are pretty girls, don't you agree?

The night was young as students gathered in the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) foyer. Ladies wore dresses accentuating God-given assets, sky-high heels oozing confidence, and flawless make-up perking up facial value whereas gentlemen wore crisp, clean suit defining the word classy, gelled and clay doh'd hair looking sleek as a sheik, and the air of intelligence unbounding true gallantry.

Mr. and Ms. Fresh Face Icons 2013

Year levels were divided by elements: Air (1st year), Earth (2nd year), Water (3rd year), and Fire (4th year). With the preparations made by the College of Allied Medical Sciences (CAMS) Student Council of school year 2013-2014, the rest of the evening was a mix of elegance and fun. Aside from the presentations by the CAMS chorale members and the CAMS Supreme dance troupe, the MT-Fresh Face Icons 2013, a pageant participated by freshmen representatives, was a definite eye-catcher.

Blockmates from BSMT 1D

The food was good, care of Creative Cuisine Catering Services, though I was slightly distracted by the dazzle and spazzle of the pretty and unrecognizable faces of fellow Med-Tech students, even more so by the feeling of love in the air as people posed with their crushes and girl/boyfriends. Blame it all on Cupid. Tsk, tsk, tsk

SNSD dance presentation of K-POP enthusiasts

The camera flashes here and there, flickering of table-lit candles and boom-ba-room of the stereo system never failed to keep the party alive and kicking. Even at the latest hour, everyone was in full blast party-mode, feeling the tandem of the moment.

It was a great night, an awesome night. Can't wait for next year's party.

Party rocking the night away,

My Pretty Jo, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

L-R: Me, Samantha, Paula, Jehdel, Vince and Lito

To the girl whose cheeky smile never fails to shine
The girl who I'm proud to say is a friend of mine
To the pretty lady who has turned seventeen
The limelight's yours, this is your scene.

We may have not known each other that long,
Yet like pieces of a symphony, we belong in one song
There is us, we're an orchestra of five
We make music and dance to the jive.

Like reaching the steep mountains reaching high
Love is hard, but someday you'll meet your ideal guy
You reason with wit, an expert adviser
I haven't met a girl whose just as wiser.

You're none like another
Ain't just a friend, but a soul sister
I love you pretty girl, happy, happy birthday
May your wishes come true and your life be merry!

Run with Venus

The searing pain you feel in your calves, breathing in and out gasping for air and the familiar abdominal cramps. It's another fun run, yet again.

Runners for the 6K run waiting for the gun bang

Organized was the one word that really stood out in the event. Runners were divided into 4 groups: 3Kers, 6Kers, 12Kers and 21Kers to help facilitate the event's warm-up exercises and flow.

The rustle and bustle of runners behind me

The 3K run I joined took about half an hour, with freebies after the run and Zumba , hip hop and belly dancing which I, sadly, was not able to join.

A freebie from the event

Awards from the event included finisher's medals for 21K finishers, Best in 80's Costume, Best in Nike Costume. The free make-up demonstrations and health screenings were also worth trying out.

A fund-raising campaign of the High School batch '89 of St. Theresa's College, the Run with Venus was definitely not a disappointment. With lots of incentives, awards and great organizational skills from the organizers, I look forward to next year's run.
