When things you want do not always go your way
When you want this and your parents say, “some other day”
Don’t hate them for what they say
Understanding is every child’s obligation to pay.
It’s not a shame to be scolded and told
It’s not a bad thing to let your behaviour be controlled
Parents leave a lot of lifetime experiences untold
These are things you’ll understand once you grow old.
Just remember the night you were born
How your mother had cried and your father left torn
Between his love for his woman and for his new born
Yet you grew up with parents who adorn.
So each time you hate, each time you bleed
Remember that a parent is something we all need
When you commit a mistake, throw your pride and plead
Ask forgiveness and do a good deed.
Someday you’ll realize and see the truest of the true
That parents care, you’re not a mistake nor a woe
Don’t judge Mom and Dad for what they do
They do what they do best because they love you.
Parents love you, though at times we become so blinded by our selfishness. They know what's best and what's good for us, but we just can't see underneath that smokescreen of immaturity we have. Whenever we feel like hating our parents when things don't go our way, remember that most often, it's not only us that often gets misunderstood.
A day accomplished, another life lesson learned.
Surviving life,
